Four miles from downtown Alexander City, John and Julie Ballard built a barn on 120 acres of rolling hills.  The venue includes a picturesque pond, fenced pastures and dense woods.  It’s the perfect place to celebrate special occasions, such as weddings, birthday parties and family reunions.

Inside one half of the 3200 square-foot metal barn, the Ballards built six horse stalls, with plenty of storage for tack.  Double barn doors at one end of the stable area lead to a fenced pasture.  Doors at the other end lead to the barn’s 1600 square-foot show-stopping living quarters, where connections with family abound.  The fieldstone fireplace houses gas logs, and the mantel provides a shelf for the large-screen television.

The burnt orange tile back splash in the kitchen shows off handmade pine cabinets that match additional cupboards throughout the apartment.

Two 13-by-6 foot windows overlooking the corral are fitted with 8-foot bars hewn from a single tree. The end-grain from one bar matches the end-grain on the next. From here, you can look out over the rolling hills to watch the sunset or keep an eye on children playing in the pasture.

Outside, a covered deck offers another venue for taking in the unspoiled landscape, and an old church pew provides seating on the concrete patio.

Ballard Farm can accomodate over 200 people and is a great space for entertaining a large number of people. The beauty and elegance of Ballard Farm awaits you.
